• How do I qualify?

  This discount is available to anyone (yes, even non-citizens can help get out the vote). Your volunteering must be through a US federally recognized organization. You’ll need to submit some lightweight documentation for discount approval. Here’s how…

1. 1. Choose an organization and decide how you’ll volunteer
      Pick an organization that’s helping to increase voter participation in the US general election on 5 November 2024. This post from the non-partisan League of Women Voters will give you a place to start with ideas. You can spread the word through phonebanks, textbanks, door-to-door canvassing, mailing postcards and distributing literature. You can help register people to vote at, for instance, your local farmer’s market. You can even volunteer with a candidate or campaign of your choice.

   2. Before you start, make an “I’m starting” post on LinkedIn about how you’ll be volunteering
      Before you start, or by 15 August 2024 if you’ve already started volunteering, post on LinkedIn about your plan to volunteer. See this link for how to create a post on LinkedIn. Your post must include three (3) elements:

      * a simple declaration like: “I’m helping to increase voter participation in the US elections this November with…”
      * a URL to the organization through which you’ll be volunteering
      * a concluding statement tagging Powered By Teams by inserting @poweredbyteams with something like:

   3. As you finish volunteering, make an “I finished” post on LinkedIn about your volunteer work
      AFTER you’ve completed your volunteering, make a second post on LinkedIn about your volunteer effort. Your post must include four (4) elements:
      

      * a simple declaration like: “I helped to increase voter participation in the US elections this November with…”
      * a URL to the organization (or organizations) through which you volunteered
      * a short paragraph or even a photo with a caption that describes your volunteering experience
      * a concluding statement tagging Powered By Teams by inserting @poweredbyteams with something like:

   4. Submit your discount application that includes the URLs for BOTH your LinkedIn posts

We retain the right to remove disruptive participants from any workshop.

We validate applications twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays US Pacific Time. If your application is incomplete or incorrect, we will respond ONCE to advise you of what needs to be addressed. If your application is complete and correct, we will email you on the day following validation with a link that applies the promotion to your selected workshop.
